Kids!

The other day Dolly, PC and Emma came to play for a bit while their parents Sir and ioi went out for dinner. It was so much fun having kids in the house!

This little doll hat fit Emma quite well!

Whenever there are little kids at the door, Petra just licks and licks the glass, it is so funny. I love Dolly's little play by play and Emma's excited squeals and movements.

A Visit From Friends

The Mr. and I had a four day weekend with our friends from over at Little Moments. You can see her version of the trip here, and I think she is planning on posting more photos too. We had such a fun weekend, and the best way to share it with you would be to post photos, so here we go!

K's Visit

My sister Kimberley was here for a visit at the end of August and we had a blast together. Every day seemed to be full of some sort of activity. Please come and visit again soon!

We had four friends over and served cupcakes and candy, sang a lot and played Apples to Apples. I think this version would be very interesting.

I think the winner of this round was either Flying Monkeys or Spit. Neither are that legendary to me, but it wasn't my turn to pick!

We also visited Whatcom Falls.

Yes, Kim jumped- that little red blur is her. And no I didn't jump! I still haven't been able to make the leap, I'm a chicken. I borrowed this photo off her blog since I took it, but with her camera. I'm so proud of her, but it still doesn't convince me that I should try it! It's like 25 feet high! The Mr. has jumped off the 30 foot cliff on the other side several times, but I won't jump off either.

This little guy was climbing around outside one day and I brought him in to surprise my sister. She wasn't really surprised, she just wanted to take lots of photos of him. I placed him on the window sill and he climbed up the glass. Their little sticky toes are so cute!

We also made sure to spend a bit of time in Lynden. Buying fudge and icecream (not at the same time) and antique shopping.

Lynden has tons of these hanging huge flower pots that are probably 4 feet around and sometimes grow so low you can't walk under them. They are so beautiful.

Mmmm... Edaleen dairy has great ice cream. A double in a waffle cone is only $1.89. Kim got the swirl soft serve which is the best in the world and I got cappiccino on top and coconut on the bottom (hold the cone.)

Blogger was down for most of the day here, so I share these photos with you instead of the post I had planned in my head. These are of my little friend Drooler and our Gulbransen. They were taken some time this month, on one of our monthly "get together and go to Costco" trips.

Family

On Monday I was invited to share Thanksgiving with the C family. I really miss my parents, siblings, Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles during holidays, so I was very excited to attend, and pretend I was a C for the evening. Drooler, Drooler's parents, Aunt Lily and Uncle S, three girl cousins, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Uncle Marlin were there. It was a wonderful time and I was very thankful to be included in their family dinner. Lily and Drooler's Mommy went through so much work, preparing dishes for the meal and making sure things went smoothly. Everything tasted great, and the atmosphere was comfortable. I love spending time at the C's. After dinner, Aunt Knittery and family came over to share dessert with us, as well as Heather S. and Tim. We had a reading, a lot of pie and later a few of us sang around the piano.

Honky Tonk

My parents, The Mr. and I went to a great old fashioned toy store in Lynden, WA yesterday. We love walking Front Street and visiting the shops. There are a lot of antique shops, coffee and local pie type shops as well as restaurants. The toy shop is always a favorite stop for me because they have a lot of classic toys and neat decor. The best thing in the whole toy shop is the Wurlitzer Nickelodeon. You put in a nickel, and it plays an entire song all by itself. It was so cool to watch and listen to this piano and was one of the highlights of our day. So neat!

We're Back!

We had such a nice time at the bible conference in Walla Walla. We stayed at the home of Nate and Dixie L. and their three kids, along with Lamont and Penny (and family) , and Dixie's parents. It was a full house, but their home is beautiful and spacey so it didn't feel crowded at all. I didn't once have to wait for a bathroom or ask for anything, so it felt like staying in a private suite. Each morning the breakfast was scrumptious with fresh WA cherries and coffee of course and I would get a little time to play their Kawai grand piano before leaving for the first meeting. Their home is only about 5 minutes from the college where the meetings are held, so mornings were nice and relaxed for The Mr. and I. The meetings were all very enjoyable and very interesting. The One Body was the subject for the reading meetings with the main chapter being 1 Corinthians 12. There was a lot of encouragement for the young brothers in an address by Bruce Anstey, and encouragement for young people in general sprinkled throughout the whole conference. I was encouraged in many different ways here and there throughout the our time there, some of it coming from the constant visiting with friends. It is always so nice to see everyone again after such a long stretch of being apart.
