Maltby Cafe

Here is a colorful set of photos that was also lost in the archives of my Picasa account and I figured I might as well post here for a good reminder of the memories made on this day. The Maltby Cafe is known for it's great food, in fact their walls are covered in awards and newspaper clippings, signatures from famous athletes and movie stars to prove it. The restaurant is in the basement of an old gym and the walls are made of straw covered in some sort of coating. I guess that is how they built basements back then? I wish I would have taken some photos of the architecture and decor inside the restaurant, but it was pretty dark so I didn't try.

Their famous cinnamon rolls are gigantic and sliced like a cake so you can share with the whole table. I had to add a hand in this shot so you could really tell how big it was.

The Old Maltby Gym was built in 1937 according to the sign. See that tiny little girl climbing up the stairs? That's my niece Bri! She's two now so you can really see how old these photos are.

I like the combination of Bri playing and the sign in the background. :)

  1. AWWWWW! That totally made my evening! She looks so little, chubby cheeks and all. How long ago was that? I miss that age. She's growing up way too fast... :)

    See you tomorrow!!
