Mother's Day in my husband's family means the guys do the cooking. Our traditional meal includes steak on the BBQ, mashed potatoes, Parisienne Salad, garlic clove encrusted bread, and sautéed mushrooms, Martinelli's sparkling apple cider and cheesecake with fresh strawberries for dessert. Above, LJ is working on the sautéed mushrooms and mashed potatoes on the left and The Mr. is slicing the bread on the right. Sallad is outside grilling the steaks, but I forgot to take a photo of that.
It's actually pretty nice to sit back and relax while the guys put lunch together and try and find their way around the kitchen. This year Sallad and Grace were our gracious hosts. Grace's kitchen is nice and open so the ladies were able to see what was going on the whole time and
Sallad and Grace have a sunroom off their kitchen that is just lovely. It is so handy for hosting large groups. Isn't Grace's decorating beautiful? I was blown away.
