If you do not yet use a reader for the blogs you follow, I highly suggest Google Reader.

BUT... if you already use Google Reader, I have some VERY EXCITING news for you. Can you tell I am really excited about this? One of the things you often miss out on when you use a reader, is reading the posts in their proper order and also seeing the pretty layouts of the blogs. It just takes too much clicking.

Well, miss out no more!

You can install a little “Next” bookmark in your browser bar and click through your unread posts on each individual blog instead of in the reader. It's easily added by just a click and a drag and you're good to go. I've been using it today and I just LOVE IT. It brings up each blog post one at a time in the order that they were posted. I love the surprise of what pops up next, and seeing all the beautiful colors in the layouts. I had really been missing out by not visiting the actual blogs.

So if you don't yet use a reader, try Google Reader out and use the Next feature, it makes things so easy! If you don't think it is going to be easy, just look below and see the three or so steps it takes to get it up and running.

PS. When you reach the end of your posts and your Reader is empty, there's a hilarious surprise!

  1. Yup, that's really cool! Thanks!! (Oh no, now it takes even less mouse clicks to waste time ... )

  2. i was about to blog about NEXT...I love it!

  3. Very cool - I'm now using it!

  4. excellent tip! I always struggle with these readers...

  5. You sound very technically savvy. I am most impressed!!

  6. I hope it is working well for everyone. Now if only they would add a little star button and a sign out button. That would be perfect.

    Thanks so much Lynn!
