"This is a poor photo, but it was taken for a reason. This is a tree that I planted in elementary school. I think it was in grade 6 when we all got baby trees for Project Earth. When I first got it, it was a little larger than a pencil and wrapped in a plastic bag and I brought it home and planted it in the yard. Look at it now! I have a photo of myself and the tree when it was about a foot high. I think I am wearing footless tights, or possibly stirrup pants in the photo (cringe!) If I come across it, it would be fun to post alongside this photo. We'll see!"
Well as you can see, I found the photo in an old scrapbook. The photo brings back so many good memories and I can remember that day clearly. My uncle B.B. came out to the farm and he had a cool old Polaroid camera that he was trying out. I was more than willing to crouch beside one of my prize possessions! I was in either 5th or 6th grade, and was probably around 10 or 11 when this photo was taken in 1991-92. I am just guessing here, but the photo had the remnants of what looked like "grade 6" on the back. I couldn't tell if it was a 6 or a 5. I can't believe my bangs were so poofy (natural curl), my hair was so long, I wore footless tight black tights as pants which may or may not have had stirrups, with low-waisted shirt dresses. Hmm, was this really in style? The scary thing is that girls are wearing footless tights with low-waist dresses RIGHT NOW. In 2008, scary. What goes around comes around right? Thankfully styles are usually edited when they come back around and are just a little bit better. Hopefully. :)
That is so cool C! Brandon also got one of those in 1st grade that I have pics of. Very sentimental (sp?) Ü
ReplyDeleteWow, that is the neatest thing!! I love trees so much! I wish I had some pictures like that. We planted trees at every house we lived in, but we moved a lot when I was a child. I would love to go back and see some of them now!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
