Back In Business

Hello there blog friends. I am back after a week and a half blog break and I am sorry if you thought I was going to leave you forever! Our preparations for conference are long over, the bible conference itself is over, my company is back in their own homes and I am just about caught up with housework. I am also getting back on track with my daily schedule which includes walking 3 miles a day. Let me share with you a short story about how my walk went this morning. I dragged myself out of bed (I won't tell you what time it was) and waited for a lull in the rain while I ate breakfast and read. As soon as it seemed the rain had stopped I rushed outside and down the path behind our house. About a millisecond or two later I was met by a few little raindrops but they didn't turn me around for an umbrella, as I have actually enjoyed walking in the rain many times before. What I didn't know was that this wasn't just any ol' regular rain. This was worse, way worse. As I turned the corner to head down the hill towards the bay, the raindrops turned into more what I would call a sheet of rain, or maybe a bucket. This was soon joined by a lot of wind. As I neared the state park, reaching the approximate half way point in my walk, the rain and wind was joined by some snow that was half way between sleet and hail. Let's just end the story here and say that by the time I reached my house 45 minutes after those first timid raindrops hit my jacket, I was wet to the bone. I was so thankful for that warm shower and dry clothing when I got home! Ok, so I can't quite end the story here because I would be forgetting the punch line. As soon as I was warm and cozy and safe in my house, the sun came out and dried up all the rain. Birds flew around in the warm sunlit air and sang their happy tunes while Daffodils turned their blooms upward and drank in the sunny goodness. Let's just say the itsy-bitsy spider was a little too grumpy to make her way outside again.

Check back soon because I intend to share photos and jot-note form info about the last 10 days before it is all stale and boring and yesterdays news... even though it really IS yesterday's news.

  5. Kim- it was more than a little rain! I was so cold and wet by the time I got back. Completely wet through all layers! Today it is snowing. Let's just say I am not going to walk until it stops. As in the ground is white. In MARCH! It is raining at the same time, but most of it is snow as it is actually sticking.

Amy- I didn't catch many photos of my family. I will post what I can! I regret not catching a photo of Rob with his car, or at all.

Glenda and Mandy- Thanks for missing me. :)
