Memorial Day Weekend

Over the memorial day weekend the Kirkland assembly held a fantastic young people's weekend and on Saturday everyone went over to Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island.  The weather was perfect for a day at the park!  I was able to snap a few photos, this one is of my little nephew Big A looking ever so dapper if you ask me!

There were teams and everyone rotated through several different sports.  There was also a photo scavenger hunt and later we all got to see the photos, which resulted in a lot of laughs.

Cousins!  Excuse Little Mr.'s geeky hat choice.  Hey... it works!

Little Mr.'s summer fashion inspiration.  :)

Looking out over Lake Washington.

Luther Burbank Beach was a draw for the young families!  I would have let Little Mr. dip his feet along with his cousins but he was taking a nap in the stroller.

Little Z is such a cutie patootie!

The park was once home to a school that first opened in 1904, however this building was built in1929.  You can read the history of this park here.

Hanging out with friends!

While we were there, we thought it was a good time to let Little Mr. try out swings for the first time.  It was such a blast!

My niece Tephums. :)   The ladies in Kirkland always have such yummy food and so much work is put into making everything run smoothly.

On Lord's day afternoon Little Mr. went for a walk across the lawn with his Aunt S and Big A came and held his hand on the other side, it was adorable!

Then Bri came to help and he went for his very first kid-only-assisted walk. :)

He was exhausted at the end of the day so we put him in his PJ's thinking that he would fall asleep on the drive home but....

...he definitely didn't lol.

  2. What a wonderful way to spend Memorial Day! And, yes, nephew Big A looked quite dapper. Meanwhile, may I just drool over that gorgeous bowl of chopped, ripe tomatoes? Yum!
