Home on the Range Farm

Look at those perfectly pudgy legs.... We were out visiting garage sales and she fell asleep in the car. She came away rested, and I came away with three lined baskets, two teacups with their saucers, Barbie's youngest sister and a bunch of plastic sea life figurines. I also bought one of these for $2. We had this exact one when I was little. When dad saw it later at Kitten's house (she is borrowing it for now) he told me stories about how I would peacefully play in my crib with it in the morning, and they could hear the bells and squeaks through the wall of their room.

I love Kitten and miss her so much already. Her shirt reads "What happens at Grandma's house, stays at Grandma's house!"

A BBQ! Mom made us steak, roast veggies, garlic bread and potato salad. Later we had blended coffee drinks that were so yummy. Dad made a really cool patio with paving stones and a trellis/arbor which made the back deck a relaxing place to spend time.

The old barn. I miss this place! It was home to cows and calves, horses, goats and kids, chickens and chicks, cats and kittens, more kittens, more kittens and more kittens. Lots of old things to look at, work to do, places to hide and dark corners to be afraid of.

The saddle. I can remember riding our old horse Lady on this saddle.

Me. Blurry. These photos are taken in the barn loft. I always wanted to have a photo shoot in this barn, and it finally took place.

Me again, and no I am not wearing bell bottoms, my ankles are crossed.

Good times.

Stable window.

I love how nails are used to help the door latch. It's been like this for years.

This is an old truck that was once used as a water truck around the fields. It has also been a tow truck. Before that, it was a cement truck, because the door has "Saskatchewan Cement Co. Ltd." Written on it.

True farm girls at heart, we didn't hesitate to collect a pile of cow patties when we needed a higher surface to place the camera on. K got a little side tracked though. :) Mmmm, cow poo.

Me

Kim. I love the jet stream in the background.

Kim and I. This is what we needed the cow pies for.
