Skagit Valley Tulip Festival


On Monday Mom J, Auntie Glenna, The Mr. and I took a leap of faith and drove down through rain, slush and snow to Mt. Vernon. When we arrived, it was sunny! I couldn't believe it, but I was sure thankful. I really wanted to visit the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival this year and wasn't disappointed. There were tons of tulips blooming as well as daffodils, lilies, gladiolus, rhododendrons, ornamental trees, and hyacinths.




I love the lone red tulip in this photo.

I love the array of colors in this photo. Red, pink and red and yellow tulips, yellow daffodils, small blue flowers, blue sky, purple crape myrtle (I think?) and pink blooms on the tree.

It is such a pretty setting with the mountains in the background.

    . . . sigh . . . I love those rows and rows of purple tulips. Some of mine are poking through the soil, but are currently encased in ice from our freezing rain the other day. :o(

    the pictures of the tulips are amazing - how beautiful it must have been to actually be there!

    Nice pictures! We went on the 19th and it was raining/snowing/hailing and everything in between. And the tulips weren't open all the way. boo... And I'm just realizing that I should put up some pictures. (Cuz I'm really good at that...)

    great pics coralee...it looks beautiful! We got to go to Buchart gardens when we were out there...it was a little early but still quite impressive! (and I've never had so many pics of flowers!!) ;)
