The Very Best Sugar Cookies Ever

I made The Mr. some heart shaped cookies for Valentines day, and now I am making them for a Ladies Luncheon that I am going to today. They are addicting to make, because they are fun to decorate (and they taste yummy- which isn't a good thing really!)

The Very Best Sugar Cookies Ever:

1 c butter, melted
1 1/2 c sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond flavoring (optional, but good)

Cream together butter and sugar, add eggs and flavorings.

4 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Mix together and add to wet ingredients. Mix till blended.

Roll out till desired thickness. Put on pan (greased if not non-stick) and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 10-11 min. They should only be slightly browned around edges when done. Bottoms do not need to be brown to be done.

Icing:
This is guess work for me, because I always decorate the cookies differently. Take as much confectioners sugar as you think you need and a small amount of milk. Add tiny drops of milk to the conf. sugar until you reach the right consistency. Be very careful with the milk because it goes a long way. Icing should be easy to spread, but thick enough to stay on the cookie and not run off.

ps: This is my last post before we leave for Banff! I know, I know, we just got home! This is a busy time for us I guess.
